Having been born and raised in Decorah, I have been through many of the changes in the local market. I graduated from Decorah High School and Luther College in the class of 2003. I was also a member of the Army Reserve's Bravo Company 389th Engineer Battalion located in Decorah for 12 years and served 1 tour of duty in Iraq. I started working with my father in the real estate industry at the age of 18 upon completion of my basic training with the Army. I have been a licensed real estate agent and licensed appraiser for over 10 years. I have purchased and sold many properties and personally understand what buyers and sellers go through in the process. I have gone through the joys and pains of remodeling and building spec homes. I own several investment properties, both commercial, residential and land. My wife Natalie and I have two children, Kylie and Kelby. I have served on the boards of many community organization in the past and currently serve as an Ambassador with the Chamber of Commerce, Junior Vice President of the VFW Post 1977, committee member for Duck's Unlimited and member of Jeepers of Decorah. I enjoy many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, golf and "Jeeping: to name a few.

I am on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Iowa Board of Realtors, a member of the Iowa Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Decorah Area Realtors Association. I graduated from Decorah High School and Luther College. I then worked as a process control technologist at a petro chemical plant in Clinton, Iowa. I also taught science and biology at Stratford schools for 7 years. I then worked for Midland cooperatives as a coop manager until 1982. My wife Kathy owns and operates the Harmony Greenhouse and Floral shop in Harmony, MN. We live on an acreage west of Decorah and enjoy gardening, horses and camping. I have been an associate realtor with Viking since 1990, and enjoy helping people buy and sell property resulting in a happy buyer and a happy seller.

After receiving a business degree from the University of Iowa, Dennis and his wife, Jolene moved to Dallas, Texas in 1979 where he had a 25 year career as a manufacturer’s representative of computer and consumer electronics. In 1991, they founded their own company which grew to be a successful firm in Texas calling on the headquarters of Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club,CompUSA, Radio Shack, JCPenney, and other regional retailers. They represented Microsoft, AT&T, Iomega, IBM, Kenwood Electronics, Memorex, TDK and other name brand companies.

Dennis served on the Board of Directors of First Mercantile Bank of Dallas, the Regional Board of Directors of Colonial BancGroup of Dallas and as a Regent of Dallas Christian College.

Selling the business in December 2004, they retired to Decorah to be part of this beautiful community. Between growing up on a farm and a sales and marketing career, real estate is a natural fit for Dennis’ skills. He understands the rewards and challenges of buying and selling residences and of building a custom home. Roman is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin in Platteville majoring in Civil Engineering. Our daughter Halley is an 8th grader at CFS in Calmar.
